\So I have seen Spider-Man Homecoming but I didn't like it very much. I really had no expectation for this movie. I was hoping that this would be better. It was much more than just a little better-- it was better by a lot. I think that the plot was very good, but the visual of it was simply phenomenal!
So the plot was very basic but had many sub plots. For example, he was trying to stop the Lizard, but was also trying to keep his family not worried, see his girlfriend, and be a student. Lots of complex characters, which kept your attention. There was also a big factor of dramatic irony-- we see this in the doctor turning into the lizard, but Spider-Man doesn't know. We also saw this in the character of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. The Irony of him and the viewer knowing both identities, but everyone else not knowing. The visual element of this was amazing. All of the panoramic shots of the city were gorgeous. But the best part was all of the angles and moving camera shots of his swinging from building to building. That is unmatched. I think that is the best camera work I have seen yet. Over all, very good film. 7/10

This movie is my friend's all time favorite so I decided to watch it to see if it was all that. If I were to summarize this movie in one word, it would be "goofy." This is a very goofy movie. Like, everything about it is just childish. However, not a little kid movie because of language, and my little brother probably shouldn't have watched it with me. This treated itself like it had a budget of 5 bucks. But I think that is the point of the movie. It proved that no special effects are needed to create a dumb movie.
I really like visual movies. If I were to give a rating based off visual effects, this might be the worst movie I have seen. But that's where the visual doesn't matter. This movie convinces you that it should not be taken seriously. The opening scene they are literally talking about why they are using coconuts instead of horses. All of the non-special effects I think were done on purpose. Plotwise, this movie cold have been Indiana Jones--but it isn't I have never seen a movie that is as all over the place as this. But that's why I likened it. They broke the fourth wall. they showed little animations in between each scene, and they finally kind of tied it all up in the end. I don't know why but this movie is unique and I liked it. 8/10 So going into this movie I had really big expectations. I was hoping that this would be the prettiest movie that I have ever seen. I thought that the animation would be flawless. I was expecting a really peaceful movie with scenic shots and all of the animation to show the beauty of nature. Boy, I was very very wrong. I really didn’t like this movie. I really hope it does not win the Oscars. It had a bad plot and I didn’t like the animation.
Alright, so the plot of this movie did not exist. Japanese Alice in Wonderland? All of the world jumping was confusing. Also, the names did not make sense. I didn’t know who was who. I really had trouble interpreting what was going on. Also, the ending made no sense. The rock fell so didn’t that mean the world would crumble? This thing was all over the place. It was super obvious that the director never wrote a script and just did a storyboard. The reason it was all over the place could be a result of his ego. It might just be him wanting to show off all of the cool animation he can do. The animation, I was told, should have been the best I have ever seen. And it was— for the first five minutes. As I said, I was hoping for a peaceful movie that showed nature’s beauty. Once it showed the Grandmas, I realized it would go down hill. The heron was good until he opened his mouth. The fact that it was a dude in a costume makes no sense. That defeats the whole purpose of the title. It just became an average animated movie when he took the beauty away. However, to give credit where credit is due, most of the characters looked good and the background of the scenes was phenomenal. Overall this movie was not very good. The plot did not exist and the animation did not make up for it. It was fun seeing it in a theater though. Thank you for that, Mr. H 4/10 So I was in the mood for a sports movie because I had not seen one in months. I was looking through all of our old DVDs and found this one. It's rated R for language, but this is probably the worst rating I have seen. It could have been PG. I think this movie had a good story and message, but it was super predictable.
The story was great. It followed three different players who all have different backgrounds and deal with the stress of football differently. One of them was the quarterback who everyone loves but in reality, he is just a drunk. The movie is trying to show us that that is how people are. They are different than what we perceive them to be. This movie was also well balanced with humor, action, romance, and horror. The only problem I have is that it is so predicable. Never seen it, read summaries, or even the trailer so I had no idea of what to expect but it was a traditional sports movie. Movies like Rocky, or Miracle keep you on the edge of your seat. You really don't think it is possible for them to win. This movie didn't do that at all. Overall, good story, annoying ending, and should not be rated R. 6/10 So I have never seen this movie before but I have always wanted to, so here we are. This movie is pretty much just a typical action movie with some cool visual effects, but I still like it.
So the plot o-f this movie is the most basic action movie plot I have ever seen. There is a seemingly average person who encounters a grave danger and saves the day while discovering more about them selves. I could go on all day naming movies with the same plot. Star Wars a New Hope, The Hunger Games, Speed, and Cocaine Bear just to name a few. However, I really like this plot for no good reason. I think it is because it reminds me of all of the Star Wars movies because that was my entire life for 3 years. From a visual aspect, I think this movie is amazing. The special effects was amazing. There were so many gunshots, explosions, and blood sequences but it all looked pretty real. I also thought the camera was good. Some really cool shots, like the Slow-mo of Hans falling. That was pretty cool. Overall, if not for looking pretty, this would be an boring movie. 7/10 So I haven't ever seen any of the Mission Impossible movies before so this was a first. I really had no idea what to expect. Didn't even know what these movies were about. Pretty quickly I figured out they were spies. I thought it had an ok good plot. I was actually confused by it. It was really hard to follow all the names what events were real and who was on whose side. I think this auctually made me pay really close attention, but it was annoying. I think the special effects department could use some help. Like the scene where he jumps from the helicopter to the train. It is so fake.
This movie is amazing. It is funny, entertaining, dramatic, relatable, and heartwarming. I think this is the movie that I have seen the most. I watch it at least 3 times every Christmas break, since i have been allowd to watch it. This is a movie that is special to me, my dad and my little brother. We quote it all the time durring chrtistmas. However, my entire family enjoys it for the most part.
So I was struggling to find a last movie to do for Spielberg because I have seen so many by him. I found this one. Going into it I thought it was going to be terrible. I don't know why. Also, I had no idea what the plot of this was. I was really surprised. This might be one of my favorite ones by Spielberg now. There was just one thing that I couldn't get by. That was the fact that all events of the plot were so small scale. He never left the location. Never made a mega world impact like Indian Jones or Titin. He didn't save an entire town like Jaws. He didn't make a scientific discovery like E.T. He was just kind of there in a big airport and waiting. The movie was about him fighting the owner of the airport and falling in love. I don't know if I liked or disliked the fact that it wasn't big scale. It was different.
So the beginning of the movie was pretty slow to develop. I kind of liked that Tom Hanks didn't speak much. It seemed realistic. Also I think that the image of the movie was a little darker. And, I actually loved this movie right off the bat because there were no opening credits. This movie took so many turns. It was depressing one minuet when you saw him struggling to sleep, but then comedy when people were slipping left and right on the floor, and then romance when he is with the woman. it really kept me into it. If it weren't for that I would have lost interest. The ending is amazing. The peanut can ties everything up. So happy for him. I really liked it. So even though nothing big happened in this movie, I feel like it is still pretty good. Would definitely watch it again. 8/10 The first hour and a half of this movie are immaculate. I don't know if I have seen a better movie. However, the last hour is terrible. It would probably be a perfect movie if it didn't have the ending. It just dragged on for way too long.
So my great aunt first told me about this movie but I had no expectations for it. That is the best way to go into a movie- not knowing anything about it. So in the beginning I was confused. The flashbacks and normal time got me very confused. However, that was a great hook- it got me into the movie. I really loved all of his cons and how he faked everything. It was very exciting and it kept suspense for the entire movie. However, when he becomes a doctor and meets the girl, the entire movie goes down hill form there. He just stops his adventure and the fact that he turned himself in to the police made me angry. I just spent 2.5 hours to see guy turn him self over in the end?? Come on Spielberg. Some scenes I liked were him faking being a teacher and a flight attendant, making the checks by hand in the hotel, pretending to be the secret service, escaping the plane by using the bathroom, and him running away from the divorce papers to start the entire plot of the movie. Some scenes that I did not like were both of the sex scenes, the engagement party, any scene involving the mom, and the check factory scene when he turns himself in. Overall this was a good movie that could have ended much better. 7.5/10 So this is my third Spielberg film so far and I have been impressed so far. However, I was not expecting much from this movie. I read all of the very old comic books of Tintin and those are some of my favorite books ever. I thought that this movie would ruin it for me. It didn't.
To start, the animation was actually really good. I typically hate this kind because the polar express ruined it for me. But this kind seemed different. It seemed pretty advanced for 2011. It really gave the feel of watching real people, but at the same time gave a comic book feel when you had scenes such as the motorcycle chase scene. I really liked the plot but I think I'm a bit biased because I already knew it because I read the book a couple of years ago. Not really much to say about it because of that. I think that it stuck very close to the book. One of the best movie adaptations I've seen. Just all in all, the animation was just so good its hard to explain it. That probably left the biggest impression on me. |
